The Role

• Work with the lead engineer/architect to understand the scope of work, schedule, budget, project instructions and responsibilities.

• Work with lead engineer/architect to determine intent and contents of each drawing.

• Typical project drawing deliverables include equipment layouts, piping plans, sections, details, process PFD?s and P&ID?s, equipment schedules, and POC matrices.

• Complete drawing responsibility tasks within scope, budget and schedule.

• Review drawings for completeness and constructibility.

• Coordinate with all other disciplines.

• Start and maintain a discipline file of working drawings for the project.

• Perform duties of Senior CAD Operator as needed.

• Perform field verification and asbuilting activities,

• Attend client review meetings and present technical drawings as needed.

• On occasion, work on project team that is comprised of employees from two or more design offices.

• Follow all company and project file management protocols and procedures.

• Other duties as assigned by the Platform Lead or Discipline Director.

The Successful Applicant

• Applicant 3D experience / BIM

• Excellent working knowledge of 3D programs and actively participates in 3D/BIM focus evaluation groups

• Authoritative decisions/recommendations/improves standards

• Makes suggestions for improvement including changes to work flow to implement Equipment selection

• Good understanding of engineering specifications and makes instrument selections with review of senior engineer Estimating experience

• Good awareness of cost drivers on projects

• Good ability to estimate hrs to complete design tasks Inter-discipline coordination/Space management awareness

• Independently coordinates with very little management direction.

• Excellent understanding of pipe support spec and products.

• MS Office abilities-Excellent understanding of Word, Excel, Outlook

• Persuasion and negotiation of critical issues-Good communication and negotiation skills (verbal and written) Project ownership

• Can find project files independently, manages files efficiently.

• Takes ownership of issues completely until resolved Supervisor guidance-Independently manages own work with very little management, copies project lead and DD on correspondence

• Troubleshooting / Creativity-Very Good Support SDC services-Design verification of complex equipment/systems.
