The Organisation
Leading firm of consulting engineers with global presence and ability to deliver highly innovative and tailored solutions for businesses in a wide range of markets including buildings, sustainability, health, transport, mission critical, defence, industrial and utilities.

The Role

  • Freight and passenger railroad market development

  • Develop strong commercial relationships with senior executives of rail operators, owners and contractors

  • Monitor and pursue new business opportunities, lead proposal preparation, presentations and negotiations

  • Project management

  • Act as project director or project manager, depending on scope and resource availability

  • Act as technical expert in the areas for which the candidate is qualified to do so

  • Oversee technical activities of project staff

The Successful Applicant

  • Significant freight rail experience in either engineering or operations

  • Experience in developing and maintaining market share within the rail industry

  • Ability to identify new business opportunities within the rail sector

  • Understanding of local and interstate rail standards and the practical adaptation of these to rail projects

  • Understanding of key rail disciplines (operations, rolling stock, civil and systems engineering)

  • Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team
